Grain Report Friday - 04th August
What price do you want for your grain?
Overnight moves in international markets and yesterday's actual traded prices across Australia are below to help you determine your price. If you need to change your offer price, simply edit it before market open.
Look Out!
The bears continue to control the futures markets, with wheat and corn trading lower again last night.
Soybeans were pretty much unchanged.
Matif and Winnipeg Canola bucked the trend and were both firmer.
Here is some interesting information regarding vegetable oils and potentially support for Canola and Canola Oil.
A recent study from the University of California has found Soybean Oil could lead to ulcerative colitis or an inflamed colon due to its high level of linoleic acid.
Our bodies need around 1-2% per day of linoleic acid, but Americans are consuming 8-10% because they eat a lot of foods that contain Soybean oil.
Canola Oil contains a lot less linoleic acid.
Now if you are sipping on a Soy Latte, and eating a bit of Tofu whilst you are reading this report, it's all good, those soybean products are ok, it’s just the soy oil that’s a concern.
Now back to the markets.
