Look Out!

  • Wheat was off again last night. Corn unchanged and beans were up.

  • US Spring wheat conditions improved 1% from last week.so maybe the bleeding has stopped with this crop.

  • Corn was up 1% to 59 Good to excellent and beans were up 5% to 59% Good to excellent.

  • The nervousness and production concerns over the US row crops, corn and beans can now be dismissed, as no more to see here.

  • However, tensions remain high in the Black Sea region with more attacks on ports and disruption to vessels.

  • The Australian Oilseeds Federation (AOF) have come out with an Aussie Canola Crop at 5.59 million metric tonnes, which is a bit higher than other guru forecasts, who have the crop under 5 million tonnes.

  • They have WA at 2.58 million tonnes, which seems a bit higher than other forecasts. This number came from the GIWA July forecast, which also had WA wheat at 9.9 million tonnes.

  • I sit behind a desk, so what would I know, apart from these seem too high, but its mid-August, and things change.
