Growers setting their grain prices
The volume of grain offered for sale has been building in recent weeks with more growers comfortable offering their grain for sale at a price they will sell for.
Many offer prices are being set within the range of prices over the past two months, but the general consensus appears to be a lack of sellers at current buyer bids, particularly in the eastern states where price falls have been more pronounced.
In Western Australia, many prices have kicked higher as buyers jump up to meet grower price expectations and buy grain to cover their needs.
By growers offering their grain for sale, it provides buyers very clear price signals on where their price needs to be in order to purchase volume.
Demand for grain remains. Whilst buyers have pulled their bids back, they continue to search and look at parcels of grain offered for sale.
The amount of grain that will be exported and consumed domestically this year has not yet been bought, and whilst buyers may not be able to pay what some growers are wanting currently, markets move and they may be able to pay it in the future.
By buyers knowing the prices growers would sell for, it helps them do their job and keeps more buyers interested in trying to buy grain.
Growers have a say in the price of Australian grain and more growers appear determined to show the market their sell price.
Clear Grain Exchange and igrain provide an efficient and secure way to do this for grain in warehouse and on farm respectively.
Give it a go, there's no downside, so why wouldn't you!
