Grain prices improving - Buyers continued to get more active in trying to purchase Australian grain last week pushing prices higher.
22/23 season grain is now trading on CGX - 22/23 season delivery periods are now open for trading on CGX, WA new season trading this last week.

Australian grain values improve
Buyer activity on the exchange continued to lift last week as they look to accumulate, plan, and manage their books ahead of the coming harvest.
Buyers were actively logging in, searching for grain offered for sale, bidding on grain, and often matching the price growers were asking for last week.
This resulted in a wide breadth of grain trading across all states in Australia often at much better prices than published bids being advertised. Hence, the activity on the exchanges is providing real price discovery.
22/23 season grain was actively being offered, bid and trading in the west, while a plethora of grades were trading through the eastern states which continue to navigate very difficult weather conditions.
39 different buyer businesses bought 33 grades of wheat, barley, canola, sorghum, oats, and a number of pulses including chickpeas, lupins, faba beans and peas.
22/23 season APW1 wheat was trading $455/t Geraldton and $450/t Kwinana, ASW1 was trading $350/t Kwinana.
On the old crop; APW1 traded $475/t Melbourne, $458/t Pt Adelaide, $456/t Newcastle, and $450/t Kwinana as examples. ASW1 was trading some huge spreads across the country with $436/t selling in Pt Adelaide, $429/t in Newcastle, $410/t Melbourne and $360/t Kwinana + plenty more locations.
Stock feed wheat traded $382/t Geelong, $376/t and $375/t in Pt Kembla and Newcastle respectively. H1 wheat traded $507/t Portland while H2 sold for $505/t Newcastle, $500/t Kwinana and $493/t Melbourne.
Feed barley was trading $348/t Melbourne, $342/t Pt Adelaide, $337/t Brisbane and $305/t in Esperance. Canola values also improved to trade $827/t Melbourne and Pt Kembla + oil bonifications.

22/23 season delivery periods are now open for trading on Clear Grain Exchange. The delivery periods released include:
Now - for any 22/23 season grain already delivered into warehouse
Nov22/Dec22 - for grain that will be delivered by November or December
Dec22/Jan23 - for grain that will be delivered by December or January
Jul23 - for those wishing to defer delivery on a grain contract until July 23
Note we're monitoring the harvest conditions and may open more delivery periods if required. Please remember if you sell grain for future delivery, you must deliver into the contract within that delivery period. We're always here to help if you want to discuss offering 22/23 season grain.
