Australian grain is in demand

30 different buyer businesses purchased wheat, barley, canola, oats, lupins, lentils and peas last week across 16 port zones around Australia. There is demand for your grain. Plenty of grain is still to be bought for export and domestic use around Australia. Many analysts have reported that Australian grain does not need to get cheaper to be competitive into international markets. In fact, there is room for upside in Australian prices. Growers and their agents have the power to ask for a price, rather than simply accepting a price. Rather than hitting cash bids as you deliver grain this harvest, consider delivering grain into warehouse and offering your grain at a price you feel is fair value. There is often better value and more buyers for your grain than you may realise. Last week APW1 wheat traded $465/t in Kwinana, $420/t Port Adelaide and $387/t Port Kembla and Newcastle as examples. ASW1 was trading $391/t Brisbane, $385/t Port Kembla, $377/t Melbourne and Thevenard, and $353/t Geraldton. H2 wheat traded $600/t in Kwinana, $498/t Geraldton, $439/t Port Kembla and $436/t Port Adelaide. AH9 was making $369/t Port Kembla while stock feed wheat was trading $389/t Brisbane, $378/t Port Kembla and $377/t Newcastle. This is just a snippet of what traded last week.
